Another Name: heavy magnesium oxide, magnesia
Ingredient: It is formed by heating magnesium carbonate. There are two kinds: heavy and light. Generally speaking, commonly used magnesium oxide is referred to heavy magnesium oxide.
Shape and Properties: White powder, odorless, tasteless. It can absorb carbon dioxide slowly in the air. It is almost insoluble in water and ethyl alcohol. It can soluble in diluted acids.
Pharmacological Action: Compare with sodium bicarbonate, its acid-resistant ability is better, slower and last longer. And it has no CO2 emissions. Reacting with gastric acid, it will form magnesium chloride and release magnesium ion to stimulate intestinal tract movement. It has laxative function.
Adaptation Disease: It is suitable for hyperchlorhydria, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer with constipation. For these symptoms without constipation, its laxative function can be corrected through taking calcium carbonate.
Usage: Acid resistance. Take 02.g-0.4g each time and three times a day taking. Ralax the bowels: you can take 3g each time and 3 times a day.
Matters Need Attention: The people with renal dysfunction may cause retention toxicosis. If it proved hypermagnesemia, this people can be injected calcium salt to resist.
Drug Interaction: The product would interfere with the absorption of tetracyclines. It should be avoided be take with tetracyclines.
